I leverage design.
In my decade-long career, I have developed a keen understanding of how design influences user experience. Working in Silicon Valley, I contributed to design systems for Google, LinkedIn, Intuit, and BMW, focusing on visual and motion design. My role involved leading design teams and advocating for design's impact on usability.
My portfolio includes work on iOS, Android, wearable technology, in-vehicle interfaces, VUIs, and mixed reality for surgical robotics. Currently, I collaborate with companies and startups, enhancing their product experiences by applying my skills in visual and motion design to improve user navigation and boost product engagement and retention.
I root my design decision-making in research findings like the aesthetic-usability effect, which reveals that users perceive attractive products as more usable. This phenomenon, studied by Masaaki Kurosu and Kaori Kashimura, highlights that aesthetic appeal can mask minor usability issues.
In my design approach, I incorporate research that demonstrates the impact of motion design on improving user experience. Studies show that motion design in UI enhances usability and user engagement by providing clear visual feedback, reducing cognitive load, and positively influencing users' emotional responses. This aligns with findings that well-executed animations improve task performance and overall satisfaction, forming a core part of my strategy in creating effective and engaging digital interfaces.
